Person behind Yamaguchi Yoga House

Roksana, originally from Poland and living in Japan since 2007. Since 2015, I’ve been teaching yoga in Okinawa, where I manage The Yoga Tree Okinawa studio.

Our adventure with Yamaguchi began in 2023, when I stumbled upon our future home through an Akiya (abandoned house) listing. It was love at first sight. While I’m blessed to live amidst Okinawa’s tropical beauty and ocean breezes, there’s something uniquely grounding about Yamaguchi’s landscape. Here, surrounded by forests, mountains, and countryside, I instantly feel a sense of peace and refreshment.

I’ve always been passionate about the profound impact of nature on our health and wellbeing. It’s not just a feeling—there’s real science showing how exposure to nature is essential for both body and mind. That’s why we created Yamaguchi Yoga House: to offer others the same opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the benefits of yoga, mindfulness, and forest immersion.

Our peaceful retreat combines traditional Japanese-style accommodations with the serene beauty of Yamaguchi’s countryside.

Together with my husband and son, we love to welcome guests into our cozy home.  We can’t wait to share this beautiful, hidden corner of Japan with you. 🌿
